Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center offers residency training in Urological Surgery as a member of the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSU-COM) consortium. Other consortium members include several hospital within the Statewide Campus System (SCS). The intensive curriculum covers cognitive, psychomotor and affective objectives in the field of urology during OGME years 2 through 5. OGME year 1 includes general internship/surgery exposure

Program features include:

  • Monthly rotations at consortium hospitals
  • Emphasis on scientific research under the guidance of clinical faculty
  • Presentation of research at the Michigan Urologic Society meetings
  • Affiliation with William Beaumont Hospital for pediatric urology
  • Participation in medical education through teaching of externs and interns in clinical settings and through lectures
  • Rotations at DMC
  • Access to 15 plus consortium staff urologists

Educational programs include:

  • Basic science course
  • Weekly resident conferences on Wednesday and Thursday mornings
  • Monthly journal club
  • MSU-COM SCS Educational Days
  • Michigan Urologic Society Education Days

Duration of program: 5 years

AOA approved positions: 23 in consortium (1 funded position at McLaren Macomb)

Call requirements: shared coverage with residents from area hospitals (please contact us for more information)
